Happy New Year, everyone! Here’s something from last year that many of you might have missed with all the holiday craziness. An excellent release from a young label Blind Colour, this is the debut album by Nate Connelly, yet it is filled with talent and confindence from the very first second to the last. I hate calling good music “trendy”, so I will not do that, and will say instead that this release is indeed comparable, as the press-release states, to the work of electronic artists that are getting lots of attention lately, such as Bonobo and James Blake. I would also add Nicholas Jaar and late Massive Attack to the list. Very athmospheric album, dark ambiance is framed by crisp intense beats and tastefully seasoned with beautiful vocals and experimental noise effects. Buy A Dream About Being Lost from Amazon.
